How do I automatically check my browser and its current settings?


This
webpage will try to automatically check your browser and its current settings.
Compare that to the Minimum Requirements.


Minimum Requirements:
Minimum requirements for Windows

Connection speed of 40 Kbps - 56 Kbps
Windows 95, 98, 2000, XP or NT.
E-mail address & password

Supported browsers MS Internet Explorer (4.01 SP2 to 6.0)
Netscape Communicator 4.7x
Allow cookies.
Disable all pop-up blockers.
Browser settings

Once logged in - accept all publisher, site, and server certificates.

Change browser settings to Java enabled

 


How do I determine which browser version I have?


For Netscape,

click Help - About Communicator.

For Internet Explorer,

click Help - About Internet Explorer.

 



How do I enable Java on my browser?

If you have tested your browser and received a message indicating that you have a compatibility issue with the Java Virtual Machine, please install the latest JVM from Sun Microsystems at: Download Sun Java Virtual Machine

For Netscape (all versions),

click Edit - Preferences - Advanced, then select all of the available Java checkboxes.

For Internet Explorer version 4.x,

click View - Internet Options - Advanced, then select all of the available Java checkboxes.
For Internet Explorer version 5.x,

click Tools - Internet Options - Advanced, then select all of the available Java checkboxes.

 


How do I clear my browser's cache?

  • In Microsoft Internet Explore 5.x, to clear the cache:

    1. Click the Tools menu and choose Internet Options.
    2. Click the General tab.
    3. Click the Delete Files button in the Temporary Internet Files section.
    4. Place check mark on Delete all offline content
    5. Click OK.
    6. Click OK again.
    7. Close and reopen the browser.
  • In Microsoft Internet Explore 4.x, to clear the cache:

    1. Click the View menu and choose Internet Options.
    2. Click the General tab.
    3. Click the Delete Files button in the Temporary Internet Files section.
    4. Click OK.
    5. Click OK again.
    6. Close and reopen the browser.
  • In Netscape Navigator 4.x, to clear the cache:

    1. Click the Edit menu and choose Preferences.
    2. Click Advanced (last item in the left-hand column).
    3. Click Cache.
    4. Click Clear Memory Cache now.
    5. Click Clear Disk Cache now.
    6. Click OK.
    7. Close and reopen the browser.
